About Three Feathers Outreach
Three Feathers Outreach was originally named Cup of Cold Water and was started by visionary Brad Beard in 2013. In the course of his time criss-crossing the United States as a trucker, Brad noticed difficult and often deeply impoverished circumstances in some of the Native American reservations through which he traveled, and he felt called by God to make a difference.
Brad started small. He simply built one relationship at a time, and helped one person at a time. He often worked alone, but then with increasing frequency friends and family stepped up to help as they became aware of the need. Brad realized more structure and organization were necessary to continue the work, at which point the name was changed in 2021 to Three Feathers Outreach (3FO) and was incorporated as well as a volunteer board established.
The operation is kept as straightforward and simple as possible. Donations are gathered, primarily from Central Illinois, and when there is enough for a load, the truck heads up to South Dakota and drops off donations at points predetermined by tribal members who then manage the distribution in their area.
